What is a Podcast?

Podcasting is a means to distribute media content via the Internet for playback on a computer or a mobile player, like an iPod. It can be thought of as an Internet broadcast for audio and video media. Users subscribe to a provider's podcast to receive new content as it becomes available, like setting stations on a car radio or channels on a television set. Our weekly sermons are now available as a podcast.

Why is it called Podcasting?
The name comes from iPod and broadcasting, which has managed to cause confusion because an iPod is not needed to listen to podcasts. Regardless the name has stuck.

What if I don't have an iPod and just want to listen online?

All you need to do is click on the Audio Only link from our sermons page next to the message you want to hear.  You will need to have the free  Real Media player to open the file and begin listening to the stream.

How do I burn the message to a CD?

Right click on the "MP3" link, choose "Save Target As."  Save the file wherever you like on your computer, then create the CD using the CD burner installed on your computer.
